Bart A. Charlow is a management consultant, fine artist and author. Retiring from over 50 years as a CEO, a Licensed Family Therapist and educator, today Bart shares his wisdom as a coach and mentor to nonprofit executives.
Born into the carnival life of a Borscht Belt Catskills hotel family, Bart has never let the ordinary constrain him. From professional photography to painting he has always set his creativity free, now entering into the realm of authorship. His first book, A Catskill Carnival: My Borscht Belt Life Lived, Lost and Loved, is a memoir of his early years in a unique setting, coming to terms with and cherishing its life lessons. His broad and deep background in management and consulting spans diverse fields: business administration, education, research, audio-visual media and information technology. Raised in both the resort and construction industries, and educated in psychology, anthropology and the sciences, his experience combines in-depth knowledge of human behavior and business processes. Bart is rated as an excellent public speaker, who has been featured on television, radio, and in newspapers many times, and has been quoted in Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, and interviewed on the NBC Today Show. Among honors he holds is the Jefferson Award for his community leadership and has been noted several times for his service in the United States Congressional Record. He holds an M.A.Ed in Counseling and a B.A. in Anthropology & Sociology from Wake Forest University. For fun he leads a plein air painting group. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, grown children and grandchildren. |
